Bellbrook, OH
Heavy rains caused a creek to rise and carry debris downstream, which collided with a homeowner’s bridge foundation and caused it to wash out on one side. The ramp was also broken off of the main structure. Axcess was able to fix the damage and add long-term stability. Project requirements included:
A strong foundation was needed to withstand damage from flooding water and floating material when it rushes by. Helical piles were installed to stabilize the foundation and 4” x 4” galvanized steel post supports were used to secure the ends of the ramp.
Beneath the bridge, treated lumber was used as cross supports between the steel beams. This ensures that in the event water hits the side of the bridge, the cross beams will distribute loads from the water across the steel beams.
BRIDGE SPAN: 30 feet
BRIDGE WIDTH: 4 feet
BRIDGE WEIGHT: 2,500 lbs
