Very few design firms specialize in smaller pedestrian bridge projects. These design firms also typically put their most inexperienced professionals on these low revenue applications. The result of this are designs that are more expensive and take longer to construct than they need to.
There are a limited amount of construction companies experienced in small bridge projects. Companies that specialize in other types of construction work bid on small bridges because they are hungry for work, which creates a lot of risk for the owner. Large bridge contractors also bid on smaller bridges at very high prices because of the expanded overhead that these organizations have.
There is a dual layer of profit margin with this traditional design bid build model that does not exist in the Axcess design-build model.
We provide a fixed price that will never change throughout the process unless YOU change the scope of the project. Before the project begins, we define the scope of the project and the concept design that the contract is written against.
